This faux pasta gets its name because it is made by cutting spirals from the pasta. These strips of zucchini are then sauteed in a saucepan with olive oil and garlic. The resulting noodles then resemble something close to spaghetti or linguine, depending on the size of the zucchini spirals. They have no gluten and are an excellent alternative to getting pasta, especially if pasta is off the table because you can't eat gluten.
The big thing that most people look for when going to a pizza restaurant is pizza, of course. The main problem with that for people who eat gluten is that pizza is made with wheat. Wheat has gluten, so that means that normal pizza is off the table for anyone who wants to avoid gluten. However, there is a really fun alternative to regular pizza that you will find in many places that serve customized pizza. These pizzas are made with a crust that has no flour. Instead of wheat, the crust is made from cauliflower. The cauliflower is processed and then turned into a dough that is baked and covered in traditional toppings.
Eggplant or Chicken Parm
Eggplant and chicken parm are more great alternatives. They are classic Italian dishes that you will find at pizza restaurants. The eggplant and chicken have no gluten. If you are super sensitive, you might ask that the eggplant or chicken not be breaded, as the coating of breadcrumbs is the only thing that will have a slight amount of gluten. The eggplant or chicken can simply be sauteed and then covered in sauce and cheese, placed in the oven, and then baked.Share
